From an Edgar Award–nominated author, a small-town chief of police is pushed to his limits while going up against a local crime syndicate. The near-fatal stabbing of Armand “Fat Manny” Manditti, a numbers runner working for the local mob boss, has chief of police Mario Balzic in a bind. Neither Fat Manny nor his brother Tullio are talking, probably because they are putting together a revenge plan that will soon turn the small rust-belt town of Rocksburg into a morgue. Unless Balzic can come up with the perp before they do. It’s the kind of fix that can get even the most conscientious cop in trouble. . . . “Constantine is a marvelous writer. May Mario Balzic thrive.” —The New York Times “K.C. Constantine is one of the most talked about mystery writers on the American scene. Constantine has a smooth style, and his plots are loaded with unexpected twists and turns.” ―Boston Globe “Constantine writes a terrific mystery.” ―Providence Journal

Powell Barratt was used to success in real estate, business, and law… not romance. Certainly not romance with a man who could give the god Thor a real run for his money. But Detective Gunnar Erickson is right there, in front of her, vowing to keep her safe after she is nearly abducted. He’ll do anything to protect her, and she believes him. And Powell has a secret he deserves to know… Gunnar knew what it was like to lose the woman he loved. He’d lived that hell before. Now that he has Powell in his arms, he’s not about to let anything hurt her—even if he is in the midst of the biggest case of his career with the TSP. He’ll keep her safe by keeping her right next to him where she belongs. But when his enemies realize just how important Powell is, Gunnar has a fight on his hands. Before people close to them both pay the ultimate price... The Secrets She Keeps is a complete, 500-page romantic suspense novel and is the second in the Finley Creek: Enemies Within tetralogy. The Finley Creek series contains multiple scenes of violence, adventure, dark criminal behavior, cursing by heroes, heroines and villains, a few mild-to-moderate love scenes, and references to subject matter that may distress some readers, including pregnancy loss, abductions, assaults, stalkings, mass shootings, child abuse and other dark themes. The Finley Creek series of books contain the same depth of content that can be found on a network crime drama series. Bad things happen to good characters, but GOOD always triumphs over EVIL in the end.

You will love the stories of how God finally got his attention as he went through encounters with wild animals, was struck by lightning, went through killer tornadoes, had many encounters with snakes in the wild, etc. He eventually was used by God in many ways which he shares with us as he and his wife ministered to other people's children through Scouting, foster parenting, adopting abused children, and in church ministry. He eventually was led to peace and because of his path to it he could use his experiences during his earlier life to minister to others that were hurting as he had been. In the later years as God proved time and again of His love for Larry, God was able to utilize all of these stories through the different ministries to inmates in jails, hitch-hikers along the hi-ways, answering phones with the Billy Graham Telephone Ministry, and as he worked to slow down the cultural deterioration of our Nation. If you or someone that you know has had a similar background of growing up under abuse, rejection, and anger, then as you read of Larry's stories, you can see how God was able to change him, and if you apply those things he was shown, you too can find peace. You will laugh and cry as you see the struggles that he went through. This book is worth the price just for the humor, but it is priceless for the life lessons that he shares with us. May you also find peace.
