This report is divided into three sections: an overview of developments in the tourism market in Asia; a subregional analysis of tourism performance; and an indepth look at tourism trends within each country. The report covers the countries of South Asia, East Asia and the Pacific region (including Australia and New Zealand). The statistics have been supplied by the individual countries and comparability is not assured due to variations in data collection methods. In 2000 the region registered a growth rate of 14.5% with 118.3 million arrivals.
