William Tell Told Again is a retelling of the William Tell legend in prose, verse and illustrations. First published on November 11, 1904 by Adam & Charles Black, the main, prose element was written by P.G. Wodehouse, in typical Wodehousian style, while the 16 colour illustrations were by Philip Dadd and the accompanying verses by John W. Houghton.

Told Again; Old Tales Told Again was compiled by Walter de la Mare, and contains illustrations by A. H. Watson. It is a wonderful collection of traditional fairy tales, including favourites such as ‘Little Red Riding Hood’, ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’, ‘Bluebeard’, ‘Sleeping Beauty’, ‘Rumpelstiltskin’ and ‘Snow-White.’ Walter de la Mare (1873 – 1956) was an English poet, short story writer and novelist, best remembered for his works for children, and his poem ‘The Listeners.’ He composed many short-story collections, though folkloric tales were a particular fascination. This edition of Old Tales Told Again is accompanied by the drawings of Alice Helena Watson (1896 – 1984); a graceful and unique illustrator. Watson largely focused on children’s and nursery tales, but also provided illustrations for dust-jackets, magazines, and other one-off pieces. Friesshardt and Leuthold lay on the ground beside the pole, feeling very sore and bruised, and thought that perhaps, on the whole, they had better stay there. There was no knowing what the crowd might do after this, if they began to fight again. So they lay on the ground and made no attempt to interfere with the popular rejoicings. What they wanted, as Arnold of Sewa might have said if he had been there, was a few moments' complete rest. Leuthold's helmet had been hammered with sticks until it was over his eyes and all out of shape, and Friesshardt's was very little better.
