These are abstracts of the land entries.

This volume contains deeds, patents and notes from wills and tax records (1666-1810) of portions of Somerset and Worcester Counties, Maryland, and Sussex County, Delaware. In the year 1767, there was an adjustment of the Maryland and Delaware boundaries which put some lands, which are now considered to be part of Wicomico County, in the state of Delaware. Wicomico County, Maryland, was formed in 1867, taken from the northern section of Somerset County and the northwestern part of Worcester County. A full name index and a map add to the value of this work.

"The main purpose of this work is to chronicle and categorize the life experiences of 519 persons who entered Maryland as indentured servants or, to a lesser extent, as convicts forcibly transported [between 1634-1777]. Many of the pages in these two folios are missing and those remaining are in such a deteriorated and fragmented state that reading the full record is impossible. The 157 remaining documents in Charles County, Maryland, Land Records Book IB No 9 - Maryland Archives microfilm CR 42844-2 (MSA CE82-46) recorded during the period of October, 1808 through August, 1811; Pages 1- 142 are no longer extant and cover the period of June 1810 - October 1810; andThe 171 remaining documents in Charles County, Maryland, Land Records Book IB No 10 - Maryland Archives microfilm CR 42844-3 (MSA CE82-47) recorded during the period of February 19, 1813. Pages 1- 238 are no longer extant and presumably cover the period of September 1811 - January 1813.This folio contains details of land transactions, land divisions of estates, sales of lands seized for debts, marriage contracts, bill of sales, mortgages, entries of slaves, manumission of slaves, stray livestock and depositions taken by the court. These records also detail when someone is moving out of state.
