The History of Black People in America from 1619 to 1880 is a two-volume work on African-American history, written by American Civil War soldier and historian George Washington Williams. George Washington Williams was an American Civil War veteran, minister, politician, lawyer, journalist, and groundbreaking historian of African-American history.
