On the seventy-fifth anniversary of the United Nations, the world has faced its biggest shared test since the Second World War in the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. Yet while our welfare, and indeed the permanence of human life, depend on us working together, international cooperation has never been harder to achieve. This report answers a call from UN Member States to provide recommendations to advance our common agenda and to respond to current and future challenges. Its proposals are grounded in a renewal of the social contract, adapted to the challenges of this century, taking into account younger and future generations, complemented by a new global deal to better protect the global commons and deliver global public goods. To achieve this goal they have joined forces with the globalization- critical organization Attac, which has provided them with the data. The publication is a formal homage to the sociologist Otto Neurath and the graphic designer Gerd Arntz, who created the Isotype (International Education System by Typographical Images) in the 1920s. Ruedi and Vera Baur also recycled a figurine system originally developed for Manifesta 11, the European Biennial for Contemporary Art in Zurich. Our World to Change! not only explains figures related to economics, finance, ecology, nutrition, and immigration, but also presents suggestions and alternatives from specialists in these fields and from Attac. Visually deciphering the functions of our world system helps to show that another world is possible and necessary.

These countries are dependent on a single source of financing i.e. the ODAs from thec developed Global North. It is estimated that the financing gap betwecn the pre and post pandemic times could increase by a whopping 70 pcrccnt, owing to the fall in ODAs as a result of poor growth outlook in the devcoped countrics. 'The retreat from globalisation and the devastating impact of the pandemic on global economic growth needs to be dealt with an alternate strategy for financing Sustainable Development. Since the 2008 Global Financial Crisis the prevailing economic development model based on an assumption of unlimited resources and, therefore, unlimited growth has been increasingly put into question by academics, policy-making agencies and even industry leaders themselves.
