Cricket in Cyberspace covers the years 2002 to 2009 using selected works from the dongles.org blog. The author, pen name Dongles, is Australian but this book is not by any means restricted to Australian cricket. The blog covered on-field events but was far more than that. It explores major changes such as IPL as well as controversy, scandal, deaths, retirements and the significant players of the era. The blog was written for the love or cricket, not for payment. The author was no beholden to any publisher or employer and was free to write freely, as he saw it. The book combines humour with fresh and insightful interpretations of cricket in the 2000s. The book features 25 original illustrations to enrich the humour and meaning of the posts.

Behind the spectacle of entertainment, sport is a subject with political issues at every level. These issues range from the social, with divisions created along gender and class lines, to the use of sport to pursue diplomatic and statecraft goals. In addition, some sports are positioned and promoted as national events both in public opinion and in the media. This book seeks to explore some aspects of the notion of power in sport in south Asia and among south Asians abroad. The first two chapters deal with the internal societal dimensions of the politics of sport; the next three relate to the politics inside the sporting world in the subcontinent and its bridge with the broader arena of the society through the media, while the last five relate to the use of sports in statecraft, consensus building and international politics. This book was based on two special issues of the International Journal of the History of Sport.

Nick is an ace wicket-keeper who loves to play cricket. He greatly respects his primary school coach who believes in the spirit of cricket and trains the team to play fairly. As the end of primary school draws near, Nick decides to join a local club so he can keep improving at the game. With the encouragement of his father, Nick joins his dad's old club and earns a spot as wicket-keeper. Unfortunately things don't go to plan and Nick's dreams turn sour. The team members are unfriendly, being more interested in personal achievements than team effort, and as far as Nick is concerned they don?t play by the rules. Torn between his mother's sense of fair play and his father's dreams that his son would play for his old cricket team, Nick becomes increasingly unhappy as the true nature of his new team mates comes to light. Sledging the opposition, tampering with the ball, ignoring the captain and refusing to 'walk' are behaviours that Nick does not agree with. His first reaction is to leave the club and, when he walks after being given not out, anger builds between him and the team. It is time to get out or make a stand. From Raewyn Caisley, the acclaimed and established author of TOP MARKS, IN UNION, HOT SHOT, TENNIS STAR, QUEEN?S CUBBY, FREE STYLE and GREAT LEAD, comes another book in the popular Junior Sports Series.
