About the Book The inspiration of Church Fathers, Church Councils, and the Roman Church was to impose a Church order. The Church Order resolved to bring separation between “oppressive Judaism” and the Grace of the Risen Lord. Examination of the history of the established Church and of the scriptural intent of the I AM on current established theology does not support this pretense. The promises of Yehovah were for those who descended from Abraham, and those who chose to become his heirs according to the covenants made with them. Is the current teaching of the Church in accord with the six covenants, or were those covenants alleviated? Is the I AM the same yesterday, today, and forever? Did He change His mind? Or is there a plan laid out in Scripture that we have ignored, altered, or misunderstood. About the Author The Rev. Few topics are as important, and as controversial, as the proper role and exercise of authority in the Roman Catholic Church. Inspired by Pope Francis's bold rereading and determined implementation of the teaching of Vatican II, Richard Gaillardetz has completely revised and expanded his book By What Authority? It offers a helpful introduction to the nature and forms of church authority and their relationship to authentic Christian belief and discipleship. Gaillardetz offers theologically clear and pastorally insightful considerations of: · the character of divine revelation, the authority of Scripture and tradition · the role of the pope and bishops in preserving the Christian faith · the levels of church teaching authority, the central faith witness of all the baptized · the possibility of disagreements with church teaching, and the proper relationship between theologians, the magisterium, and the whole people of God · the authority of the believing community and the controversial questions regarding the possibility of disagreeing with church teaching.

This book would be well worth reading as a survey of human progress towards World Order from the Code of the Hammurabi to the concept of International Law, as an outline of governmental institutions from the Roman Empire to the United Nations, as an objective consideration of universal programmes as diverse as Functional Federalism and State Shintoism. But the book is even more worth reading as a masterly analysis of current problems and principles, spiritual, political and scientific, which affect mankind in its quest for harmony and unity. But the reason why this book must be read by everyone concerned for the issues of War or Peace is because it makes a major contribution towards the solution of our international difficulties. The author gives here not only an answer – but perhaps The Answer – to the great question of our time. This book has something to tell which is NEWS, real and thrilling news, which thousands the world over will want to hear about and discuss. An enterprise has been begun – not just contemplated or proposed – which none of the Governments could have undertaken and which, in its fruition, can transform the international situation. The unexpectedness of the new agency may arouse controversy and even criticism in some quarters but by most it will be warmly and thankfully welcomed.

After being tempted by the devil in the wilderness, Jesus came out of that wilderness with a driving purpose-to destroy the devil's work. (1 John 3:8) Jesus locked horns with religious leaders who believed that they were working for God. These religious leaders confronted Jesus with a two-part question Jesus never answered. "By what authority are you doing these things? And who gave you this authority?" This question is still awaiting an answer and zeros in on a theme that resonates through the ages. It is the question that will ultimately lead the world to Armageddon.

An anthropologist's groundbreaking account of how Islamic religious authority is assembled through the unceasing labor of community building on the island of Java This compelling book draws on Ismail Fajrie Alatas's unique insights as an anthropologist to provide a new understanding of Islamic religious authority, showing how religious leaders unite diverse aspects of life and contest differing Muslim perspectives to create distinctly Muslim communities. Taking readers from the eighteenth century to today, Alatas traces the movements of Muslim saints and scholars from Yemen to Indonesia and looks at how they traversed complex cultural settings while opening new channels for the transmission of Islamic teachings. He describes the rise to prominence of Indonesia's leading Sufi master, Habib Luthfi, and his rivalries with competing religious leaders, revealing why some Muslim voices become authoritative while others don't. Alatas examines how Habib Luthfi has used the infrastructures of the Sufi order and the Indonesian state to build a durable religious community, while deploying genealogy and hagiography to present himself as a successor of the Prophet Muḥammad. Challenging prevailing conceptions of what it means to be Muslim, What Is Religious Authority? demonstrates how the concrete and sustained labors of translation, mobilization, collaboration, and competition are the very dynamics that give Islam its power and diversity.

If we do not know the responsibilities and boundaries of Spiritual Authorities, how can we possibly know if those who represent themselves as authorities in our lives are expressing God’s authority, or authority scripture attributes to Satan, the Devil, the Beast and the Kingdom of Darkness, as the same Greek is used to define all of them, but sometimes it is translated differently! Romans 13:1,2 tells us, “all authority is of God and has been established by God, whoever resists them resists what God has established and brings judgment on themselves.” So, why did we teach our children in our Sunday Schools to model their lives after the great heroes of the Christian Faith who openly defied the authorities God placed in their lives and faced judgment? True Spiritual Authority will never lead anyone to violate the First Command, separating them from God, leading to their ultimate destruction. That’s what the Serpent did to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden!
