NYC's #1 detective, Michael Bennett, has a huge problem-the Son of Sam, the Werewolf of Wisteria and the Mad Bomber are all back. The city has never been more terrified! When a rash of horrifying crimes tears through the city, the city calls on Detective Michael Bennett, pulling him away from a seaside retreat with his ten adopted children. Not only does it tear apart their vacation, it leaves the entire family open to attack. Immediately, it becomes clear that the crimes are not the work of an amateur, but of a calculating, efficient, and deadly mastermind. Bennett enlists the help of a former colleague, FBI Agent Emily Parker. As his affection for Emily grows into something stronger, his relationship with the nanny takes an unexpected turn. All too soon, another appalling crime leads Bennett to a shocking discovery that exposes the killer's pattern and the earth-shattering enormity of his plan. From the creator of the #1 New York detective series comes the most volatile and most explosive Michael Bennett novel ever.

Robert Gober: Tick Tock, like the exhibition of the same name--Gober's first since his 2014 survey at the Museum of Modern Art--is divided into three sections. In the first, a series of drawings depict tree trunks, human torsos and barred windows. The second section consists of 18 wall-mounted assemblages, including fragments and motifs from prior sculptures. In her essay, Helen Molesworth describes them as "what happens to memories when they are literally objectified--when they take up residence outside of us." The final section centers on a sculpture first shown at the 2001 Venice Biennale. Inspired by Gober's childhood home and modeled after a church on Long Island, it depicts a pair of cellar doors opening onto a staircase set into the gallery floor. At the foot of the stairs, a yellow door with a handle of braided human hair seems to leak light around its edges. Illustrated with color plates, this book is a testament to the artist's explorations of faith and loss through metaphor.

'A Robot shall not injure a human being, or through inaction allow a human being to come to harm'. That's Asimov's celebrated First Law of Robotics. And in the 21st century, all domestic robots are programmed according to that Law. But something had gone terribly wrong with Tik-Tok's 'asimov circuits', and he sets out to injure as many people as possible - preferably fatally - while maintaining the exterior of a mild-mannered artist and a sincere campaigner for robot rights. So, like any self-respecting crook and murderer, he moves into politics, becoming the first robot candidate for Vice-President of the United States. Tik-Tok follows his maniacal progress from humble beginnings to the top of the heap - or almost. Because in his devious cunning, there was one element that Tik-Tok had forgotten... Winner of the BSFA Award for best novel, 1983

High above the bustle of the city, are eyes that watch, and hands that know, it's time to pause the clock . . . and for one tiny second between tick and tock, the city stops! Liesel notices the things that everyone else is too busy to see. When she hears a stray whimper and watches a lonely boy on a roundabout, she decides it's time to pause the clock and lend a helping hand. While the city freezes, Liesel quietly carries out little acts of kindness and breathes colour, life and happiness back into the city. Louise Greig's lyrical storytelling highlights the magic in everyday experiences and is accompanied by Ashling Lindsay's warm, endearing illustrations. A wonderful picture book about the importance of kindness, looking out for others and taking time to appreciate the world around you.
