David Hume was one of the greatest figures in the Scottish Enlightenment. He worked as a philosopher, economist, historian, and publicist. The seventeenth century English philosopher Thomas Hobbes is best known for his political philosophy, as revealed in his magnum opus ‘Leviathan’ (1651).
