SafeBook: the Fire Prevention and Information Booklet for Homes, which is your Family’s resource for Fire Causes, Fire Safety, Fire Hazards and Fire Prevention. My goal is to prevent fires from happening so I authored this informative eye capturing Look Book about Fire Prevention, called SafeBook in an effort to reduce the number of deaths, injuries and property damage from the ravage of fire. To accomplish this goal my plan is to introduce SafeBook to every community and its stakeholders so that it will be in every home and in every family member’s hand. You will not parish from a lack of fire prevention knowledge and awareness on my watch. SafeBook will be your messenger and after reading it, it will be your duty to actively follow directions consistently in regards to knowing and understanding the tools of fire detection, which increases your chances of protection before a fire gets out of control. The Office of Fire Prevention, Inc. takes Fire Prevention seriously and to get your attention we wanted the book to be in color because color serves as a means of attraction. Our hopes are that as you continue to read SafeBook the greatest take away will be your motivation and commitment to make your home and community a fire safer place to live, work and play, because of your actions. This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post conference proceedings of the 5th IFIP WG 9.2, 9.6/11.7, 11.4, 11.6/PrimeLife International Summer School, held in Nice, France, in September 2009. The 25 revised papers were carefully selected from numerous submissions during two rounds of reviewing. They are organized in topical sections on lifelong privacy, privacy for social network sites and collaborative systems, privacy for e-government applications, privacy and identity management for e-health and ambient assisted living applications, anonymisation and privacy-enhancing technologies, identity management and multilateral security, and usability, awareness and transparency tools.

The working group WG 11.4 of IFIP ran an iNetSec conference a few times in the past, sometimes together with IFIP security conference, sometimes as a stand-alone workshop with a program selected from peer-reviewed submissions. When we were elected to chair WG 11.4 we asked ourselveswhether the security and also the computer science community at large bene?ts from this workshop. In particular,as there aremany (too many?) securityconferences, it has become di?cult to keep up with the ?eld. After having talked to many colleagues, far too many to list all of them here, we decided to try a di?erent kind of workshop: one where people would attend to discuss open research topics in our ?eld, as typically only happens during the co?ee breaks of ordinary conferences. Toenablethiswecalledforabstractsof2pageswheretheauthorsoutlinethe open problems that they would like to discuss at the workshop, the intent being that the author would be given 15 minutes to present the topic and another 15 minutes for discussion. These abstracts were then read by all members of the Program Committee and ranked by them according to whether they thought thiswouldleadtoaninterestingtalk and discussion. We then simply selected the abstracts that got the best rankings. We were happy to see this result in many really interesting talks and disc- sions in the courseof the workshop.Ofcourse,these lively anddirect discussions are almost impossible to achieve in a printed text. Still, we asked the authors to distill the essence of these discussions into full papers. The results are in your hands.

This book is the second of three volumes that illustrate the concept of social networks from a computational point of view. The book contains contributions from a international selection of world-class experts, concentrating on topics relating to security and privacy (the other two volumes review Tools, Perspectives, and Applications, and Mining and Visualization in CSNs). The use of online social networks (OSNs) has grown exponentially in recent years, and these OSNs continue to have an ever-increasing impact on human lives. There are many concerns regarding the privacy of users in these environments, such as how trustworthy the social network operators (SNOs) are.This book presents a way to tackle the security and privacy issues in current OSNs through a new framework for online social networking, based on distributed cloud-based datacenters (CDCs) and using Shamir's secret sharing (SSS) as the method of encrypting user profile data. The framework aims to fulfill two contradictory goals: maintaining the utility of an OSN and preserving privacy of its users. The key feature of the framework lies in relinquishing control of a central authority over user's data (which is what usually happens in the current OSNs, e.g. Facebook keeps all our data) and distributing it to multiple CDCs in encrypted form. The use of SSS ensures perfect security, which means that the security of data does not rely on any unproven computational assumptions.In this unique book, SNOs are considered as an adversary instead of external adversary. This paves the way for researchers to think beyond the privacy setting mechanism within an OSN to protect users' data.
