Characterized by his personal style of elegance, clarity, and brevity, Rudin presents in the first part of the book his early memories about his family history, his boyhood in Vienna throughout the 1920s and 1930s, and his experiences during World War II. Part II offers samples of his work, in which he relates where problems came from, what their solutions led to, and who else was involved. As those who are familiar with Rudin's writing will recognize, he brings to this book the same care, depth, and originality that is the hallmark of his work. In Brother to a Dragonfly, Will D. Campbell writes about his life growing up poor in Amite County, Mississippi, during the 1930s alongside his older brother, Joe. Though they grew up in a close-knit family and cared for each other, the two went on to lead very different lives. Level III (Grades 11-13) The hm Learning and Study Skills Program: Level III was designed to provide an introduction to learning and study skills for high school juniors and seniors and beginning college students through a series of activity-oriented units. It is structured on the assumption that an activity-oriented lesson is the most effective instructional strategy for the teaching of study skills: more succinctly, that “learning by doing” is the best way “study smart.” Learning and study skills are important for learning. They are methods and ways of doing things that help make learning easier. Understanding how to study can also facilitate learning by assisting students as they complete assignments correctly and efficiently during a specified period of time. Just like any other skill, knowing how to learn and study proficiently must be learned and practiced over time. The Program has been designed to help students learn more efficiently and effectively.
