St. Philip's Parish was a politically designated area of Charleston, S.C. A St. Philip's Church was noted among the christenings and is assumed to have been (still is?) in Charleston.

Excerpt from Register of St. Philip's Parish, Charles Town, South Carolina, 1720-1758 In 1719 the General Assembly of South Carolina directed that a parish register be kept in each parish in the Province. The register of St. Philip's Parish starts with the year 1720, but a few records of earlier dates were entered subsequently. St. Philip's Parish dates from but it 15 not now known whether any sort of register was kept prior to 1720.
