The Parable of the 5 Wise and 5 Foolish Virgins has been interpreted in many ways in Christianity. Here we look at First Christianity and the oldest way of interpreting it via the Church Fathers which was maintained in Principle even in the First protestant Martin Luther's Writings likewise till even John Wesley the Co-Founder of Methodism also held to it likewise as referring to Love God and Love your neighbour as yourself with Good Works in Action.

Some are foolish and will be greatly disappointed but unable to do anything about it.Events taking place around the world are ominous. Christ's return is drawing nigh and His church is sleeping! Disappointment awaits some of His people! Now is the time to keep our lamps trimmed and burning in preparation for the midnight cry and the coming of Christ. Do you discern the times? Get ready! Get ready for our redemption is truly drawing nigh!

Thomas Shepard (1605-1649) was a New England Puritan minister. Forbidden to preach in England, he emigrated to Massachusetts in 1635. The most eloquent measure of his classic The Parable of the Ten Virgins is that there is a scarcely a page in The Religious Affections where Jonathan Edwards does not reference Shepard's work.

The Wheat and Tares and the Ten Virgins are two parables that are not often talked about by theologians, bishops, and the fivefold ministry of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. And this is due in part, in my opinion, because there is an obscurity as to who are the tares and the five foolish virgins in those parables that the Lord Jesus is referring to, who are not only in the world, but also who call the Lord Jesus as their Savior. So, the tares that I’m going to put a spotlight on are those preachers and false teachers of God's word be they called Pastor, Bishop, Apostle, Elder, Father, Minister, Reverend, Dr. Reverend, Reverend Dr, whatever title these tare preachers and false teachers of God’s word prefer. And of the doctrines the devils that have been sown, through them, into the body of Christ, as well as who are the five foolish virgins out of the Ten who got left behind.

This first volume of Sermons by Jonathan Edwards on the Matthean Parables contains a previously unpublished series by Edwards on Jesus' Parable of the Wise and Foolish Virgins, as found in Matthew 25. Edwards preached these sermons in 1737-38, in the lull between the Connecticut Valley Revival of 1734-35 and the Great Awakening, which started in Massachusetts in late 1740. Not only does this series have significance for its place in the Protestant evangelical awakening of the eighteenth century, but it is also an important index of Edwards' developing thought on the nature of sainthood and related topics of theoretical and practical Christianity, particularly in the context of widespread spiritual renewal.
