Frantz Fanon (1925-1961), author of The Wretched of the Earth, was one of the great figures of the Third World revolutions of the 1950s and 1960s. His angry and eloquent writings on race, racism, psychiatry and anti-colonialism have become respectable in the academies of the developed world in the form of 'post-colonial studies'. ..Born in Martinique, Fanon trained as a psychiatrist in France before taking up a post in colonial Algeria. He had already experienced racism as a soldier in the Free French Army. In Algeria, he came into contact with the Front de Liberation National which was fighting a bitter war of independence. Forced to flee Algeria when he resigned his post, Fanon subsequently worked with the FLN as a propogandist and ambassador but also continued to work as a psychiatrist. ..Based on extensive and original research, this is the first complete and objective biography of Fanon. It goes beyond the myths that have grown up around the revolutionary hero and reveals Fanon to be a complex figure, infinitely more interesting than the theorist of anti-colonial violence celebrated by the left in the 1960s.

For more than five centuries The Last Supper has been an artistic, religious and cultural icon. The art historian Kenneth Clark called it 'the keystone of European art', and for a century after its creation it was regarded as nothing less than a miraculous image. And yet there is a very human story behind this artistic 'miracle'. Ross King's Leonardo and the Last Supper is both a 'biography' of one of the most famous works of art ever painted and a record of Leonardo da Vinci's last five years in Milan.

2009 Christy Award finalist! Everyone around Stefanie Noble is content, but it seems that her “happily ever after” has passed her by. Then two troubled girls and their older brother, Gideon, show up in town and clearly need help. Could they bring the fulfillment that Stefanie has been searching for? Hollywood hotshot Lincoln Cash has made a life playing the role of an action hero, basking in the laurels of his fame, fortune, and adoring fans. But when he's diagnosed with a debilitating disease, he knows that life will soon be over. He only has a small window of time to start a new career, one that will earn him legitimate filmmaker kudos. He soon heads to Phillips, Montana, to put his plan into action. Not everyone is pleased with the movie star's arrival, especially not Stefanie Noble. She's even less enamored when he accuses Gideon of arson and tries to run him out of town. But what Lincoln and Stefanie don't know is that neither the fire nor the other strange things that have happened around town are really accidents. Someone is out to get them . . . but who? And who is the real target?
