While much has been written about instinct shooting with long guns, very little had been published on doing so with a handgun until this publication. Written by a pioneering author of the concept, Instinct Combat Shooting: Defensive Handgunning for Police, now in its fourth edition, is not about winning target shooting competitions, but purports surviving real-life firefights by examining testimonies of shootout survivors and carefully analyzing firefights that prove shooting instinctively is not only crucially fast, but also equally accurate. The book defines instinctive combat shooting as: "The act of operating a handgun by focusing on the target, as opposed to the sights, and instinctively coordinating the hand and mind to cause the handgun to discharge at a time and point that ensures interception of the projectile with the target." The concepts behind instinct combat shooting discussed in this book are now being integrated into some of the most progressive police academies in the United States and around the world. New chapters provide valuable material dispelling myths on indexing, laser sights, and other trick-shooting methods. Intended to help officers survive close-quarter combat conditions, Instinct Combat Shooting is an essential tool for police looking to improve their close-range shooting skills and enhance their firefight survival.

Principles of Quick Kill The U.S. Army Manual of Instinct Shooting, Revised In the 1960's, the U.S. Army developed an "Instinct Shooting" program based on the methods of world class "trick shot" champions like "Lucky" McDaniel. This unique training method enabled soldiers with limited shooting experience to engage aerial and ground targets from a variety of distances with surgical accuracy without using their rifle sights. Using the Instinct Shooting technique known as “Quick Kill” it's possible to shoot objects as small as paintballs and aspirin tablets as they are thrown in the air with a simple spring action BB gun! These lessons are sure to improve the clay, skeet, and trap shooter. Uncle Sam Teaches YOU! has taken the U.S. Army Training Text 23-71-1 and revised, edited, and reformatted it into a much more user-friendly and easy to read format. This manual, along with a basic BB gun will help you improve your quick-shot instinct shooting marksmanship skills to a level you never knew possible!

Malešević offers a novel sociological answer to the age-old question: 'Why do humans fight?'. Instead of focusing on the motivations of solitary individuals, he emphasises the centrality of the social and historical contexts that make fighting possible. He argues that fighting is not an individual attribute, but a social phenomenon shaped by one's relationships with other people. Drawing on recent scholarship across a variety of academic disciplines as well as his own interviews with the former combatants, Malešević shows that one's willingness to fight is a contextual phenomenon shaped by specific ideological and organisational logic. This book explores the role biology, psychology, economics, ideology, and coercion play in one's experience of fighting, emphasising the cultural and historical variability of combativeness. By drawing from numerous historical and contemporary examples from all over the world, Malešević demonstrates how social pugnacity is a relational and contextual phenomenon that possesses autonomous features.
