Dear parent, what do you want most for your child? Is it to get good grades? Maybe you want them to discover and develop their talents?Hello, my name is David T. Fagan. I am a father of eight kids with the three oldest being teenagers, and I have determined that what I want most for all my kids is for them to become 100 percent self-reliant. Meaning, I want them to be able to provide for themselves and create profitable opportunities for themselves. The second priority is almost equally as important to me.... I want my children to reach their full potential. Think about that. What would it feel like to know you helped your children become their best and most profitable self? What kind of joy might be realized for your family if your child experienced all their talents at the highest levels and developed new talents they never knew they were capable of? I was once asked a question that made me think. Here it is: Does my child's current education live up to my child's full potential? This led me to wonder whether the schools, teachers, and coaches are giving my children everything they need to transform their talents into profitable careers and businesses? These have become all too common questions that almost always end with failing answers. It was from this government and public failure that Guerrilla Parenting was created. This is an audiobook for you parents that would teach you the unconventional methods to help your kids monetize their talents. As the former CEO of Guerrilla Marketing, an author of several successful business books, recipient of multiple marketing awards, facilitator of many young entrepreneur events, and a regular guest on national TV shows, I give you Guerrilla Parenting.

GUERRILLA LEARNING IS CREATING A HOME ENVIRONMENT THAT FILLS YOUR CHILD WITH THE JOY OF LEARNING Let your daughter read her library books instead of finishing her homework . Ask your eleven-year-old's beloved third grade teacher to comment on his poetry. Invite a massage therapist to dinner because your daughter wants to go to massage school instead of college. Give your child the freedom to pursue his interests, develop her strengths, cultivate self-discipline, and discover the joy of learning throughout life. If you've ever felt that your child wasn't flourishing in school or simply needs something the professionals aren't supplying, you're ready to become a "guerrilla educator." Revolutionary and inspiring, Guerrilla Learning explains what's wrong (and what's useful) about our traditional schools and shows you how to take charge of your family's education to raise thinking, creative young people despite the constraints of traditional schooling. Filled with fun and exciting exercises and projects to do with children of all ages, this remarkable approach to childhood, education, and life will help you release your child's innate abilities and empower him or her in the wider world that awaits beyond the school walls.

WeChat (the international version of Weixin), launched in 2012, has rapidly become the most favoured Chinese social media. Globally available, equally popular both inside and outside China and widely adopted by Chinese migrants, WeChat has fundamentally changed the ways in which Mandarin-speaking migrants conduct personal messaging, engage in group communication and community business activities, produce and distribute news, and access and share information. This book explores a wide range of issues connected to the ways in which WeChat works and is used, across the world among the newest members of the Chinese diaspora. Arguing that digital/social media afford a great degree of individual agency, as well as a collective capacity for sustaining an ‘imagined community’, the book shows how WeChat’s assemblage of infrastructure and regulatory frameworks, technical capabilities, content and sense of community has led to the construction of a particular kind of diasporic Chinese world, at a time marked both by China’s rise, and anxiety about Chinese influence in the West. “I absolutely loved this book, both as a parent and as a nerd.” —Jessica Lahey, author of The Gift of Failure As every parent knows, kids are surprisingly clever negotiators. But how can we avoid those all-too-familiar wails of “That’s not fair!” and “You can’t make me!”? In The Game Theorist’s Guide to Parenting, the award-winning journalist and father of five Paul Raeburn and the game theorist Kevin Zollman pair up to highlight tactics from the worlds of economics and business that can help parents break the endless cycle of quarrels and ineffective solutions. Raeburn and Zollman show that some of the same strategies successfully applied to big business deals and politics—such as the Prisoner’s Dilemma and the Ultimatum Game—can be used to solve such titanic, age-old parenting problems as dividing up toys, keeping the peace on long car rides, and sticking to homework routines. Raeburn and Zollman open each chapter with a common parenting dilemma. Then they show how carefully concocted schemes involving bargains and fair incentives can save the day. Through smart case studies of game theory in action, Raeburn and Zollman reveal how parents and children devise strategies, where those strategies go wrong, and what we can do to help raise happy and savvy kids while keeping the rest of the family happy too. Delightfully witty, refreshingly irreverent, and just a bit Machiavellian, The Game Theorist’s Guide to Parenting looks past the fads to offer advice you can put into action today.
