Thomas Macy was an original settler of Salisbury, Massachusetts, and with nine others purchased the island of Nantucket in 1659. He married Sarah Hopcott (1612-1706) and they had nine children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in New England, North Carolina, New York, Ohio, Indiana, Kansas, Nebraska and California.
