He founded the Academy in Athens, the first institution of higher learning in the Western world. Plato's 36 dialogues have been used to teach a range of subjects, including philosophy, logic, ethics, rhetoric, and mathematics. His sophistication as a writer is evident in his Socratic dialogues, which are his most famous works, and this collection of 5 dialogues are regarded as his best.
