Daisy and Duke is a true story about two China White ducks who were mysteriously left at the Glades Town Park in Oakland, MD. They soon found their way into the hearts of the many people who frequent the park. The concern of their being able to survive the long harsh winter that Garrett County is known for became a worry for many of the walkers. Several people, including the author, set up a feeding plan to make sure that they had cracked corn to sustain them through the winter when the pond was frozen over. The story teaches a lesson on caring, sharing, and respecting wildlife as well as each other.
