This is the account of an American teenager who discovered a monastery in Tibet that was the inspiration for the legend of Shangri La. It might be categorized as a 'new age' or philosophy book, like the Celestine Prophecy, since it focuses on his spiritual training and their teachings in a novel-like format. Hard to believe, but interestingly, the sub-tropical region amongst the Himalayas that he describes finding, was later documented by explorers from National Geographic, then 'covered up' (there is still evidence of this). Also interesting is that the author was apparently mentioned in the Edgar Cayce readings (the famous American psychic whose books have sold millions of copies), as someone who would one day bring an important message to the world.

He came across time to save her, each time with a sacrifice of his own. How long before HIS time runs out? Prophecy says the last priest of the secret order will rise to winged godhood after the apocalypse and save the human race. All Raven needs to ascend is an empath and an angel. The problem? There aren't any angels in this timeline, and the only surviving empath is a demon-possessed madwoman. With the help of The Book of Time, written by his previous incarnation, Raven must travel into the past, each time changing a single memory to create a better future. Each time he removes a traumatic memory for the empath, he changes her -- and what she means to him. Raven has just one night to free Lilah from madness and find the angel. Can he save the future by changing the past? Dark magic, black ops, and soul-stealing sex. Angels, demons, witches, empaths, and English professors all conceal the Secret Lives of Librarians, the Historical Society, and the ancient priesthood of a long-dead god. The Lost Sutras of Jesus is a fascinating historical journey and spiritual quest into the heart of Jesus's teachings and the essence of Eastern religion. Around A.D. 640, Christian missionaries entered China from the west and had their message translated with a Taoist and Buddhist overlay. These sutras were eventually sealed in a cave, where they remained hidden for 900 years. The Lost Sutras of Jesus combines the amazing story of the writing, disappearance, and rediscovery of the sutras with an exploration of their message.
