In clarifying this edition, editor Allan Small has removed impractical fingerings and unnecessary accidentals found in other editions.

Muzio Clementi (1752–1832) was a famed composer, pianist, pedagogue, conductor, music publisher, editor, and piano manufacturer. Although born in Italy, he spent most of his life in England. In his time, he was known as "the father of the pianoforte," "father of modern piano technique", and "father of Romantic pianistic virtuosity." Johann Dussek was a well-known, Bohemian born pianist of the late 1700's, admired for his "singing" style of performance, and as one of the pioneers of piano technique. This collection of six sonatinas, Op. 20, includes works in G Major, C Major, F Major, A Major, C Major, and E-flat Major.
