In an era characterized by globalization, technological advancements, and increased interconnectedness, the need to foster understanding and appreciation of diverse cultures has become more critical than ever. The field of intercultural humanities seeks to bridge the gaps between different societies, languages, traditions, and belief systems, promoting dialogue, empathy, and mutual respect. This conference served as a platform for the exchange of ideas, theories, methodologies, and practical approaches that contribute to the advancement of intercultural humanities. It aimed to delve into various disciplines within the humanities, including literature, linguistics, and education while examining how they intersect and interact with diverse cultural contexts.

This proceeding is an effort from various academics and practitioners in the midst of modern society to find the meaning and re-imagine Theology, Religion, Culture, and Humanities Studies for Public Life. From discussions on how religion can reshape our world to become a better world, to re-imagining the foundation of human life that believes in God in the midst of local culture and an increasingly advanced and modern world, even looking back at the history of women, evangelization, and places of worship as a means for humans to find God in the world. In the end, all of these writings are a form of academic reflection of the authors who seek to find God in the midst of today's world.

2016 International Conference on Humanity and Social Science (ICHSS2016) was successfully held in Xiamen, China, on April 22nd - 24th.The ICHSS2016 received over more than 198 submissions, and after careful peer review process, only 68 are included in this proceedings, covering management, education, economy and finance, culture, social science and sports. The program of ICHSS2016 consisted of keynote presentation, invited sessions and technical workshops.The conference provides an opportunity for researchers from all over the regions to come together to discuss issues and compare research outcomes in education and humanity, and exchange ideas to move in the right directions should be the focus of attention.

This is an open access book. Council For Indonesian Christian Religious Higher Education (Badan Musyawarah Perguruan Tinggi Keagamaan Kristen Indonesia/BMPTKKI) has the vision to advance the academic abilities of lecturers who teach within the PTKK scope. All of them aim to implement the achievement of the Tri Darma Perguruan Tinggi. To fulfill this vision, the field of research and publication of the journal BMPTKKI designed International Seminar activities to upgrade lecturers’ abilities on the one hand and facilitate Christian Theological Seminary (Perguruan Tinggi Keagamaan Kristen/PTKK) lecturers to publish their academic work in the international arena.

This book showcases the breadth of research-informed pedagogical approaches for Portuguese as an Additional/Foreign Language (PAL/PFL) carried out on topics ranging from the development of specific skills in PAL, to language awareness in PAL and innovative pedagogical approaches in PAL, involving new and experimental methodologies.

This collection elaborates an innovative analytical framework for knowledge communication, bringing together insights from a range of professional settings to highlight how a cross-disciplinary approach can promote a new view of knowledge that emphasizes constructivist and cognitivist perspectives. The volume seeks to draw connections between different disciplines’ traditionally disparate studies of knowledge communication, defined here as the communication of domain knowledge between experts of the same discipline, experts of different disciplines, or non-experts with an interest in developing expert knowledge. Featuring work from scholars across linguistics, corporate communication, and sociology on diverse professional environments, chapters focus on one of three central aspects in the communication of expert knowledge: the textual carrier of the interaction, the roles and relationships between parties in these interactions, and the contexts in which the texts and communication occur. Taken together, the collection elucidates the value of an approach that supposes that expertise is co-created in interaction under the conditions of human cognitive systems and that knowledge asymmetries can offer both challenges and opportunities to better understand and generate new forms of communication and specialized knowledge. This book will be of interest to scholars interested in language and communication, professional communication, organizational communication, and sociology of knowledge.
