This book summarizes work being undertaken within the collaborative MODAClouds research project, which aims to facilitate interoperability between heterogeneous Cloud platforms and remove the constraints of deployment, portability, and reversibility for end users of Cloud services. Experts involved in the project provide a clear overview of the MODAClouds approach and explain how it operates in a variety of applications. While the wide spectrum of available Clouds constitutes a vibrant technical environment, many early-stage issues pose specific challenges from a software engineering perspective. MODAClouds will provide methods, a decision support system, and an open source IDE and run-time environment for the high-level design, early prototyping, semiautomatic code generation, and automatic deployment of applications on multiple Clouds. It will free developers from the need to commit to a fixed Cloud technology stack during software design and offer benefits in terms of cost savings, portability of applications and data between Clouds, reversibility (moving applications and data from Cloud to non-Cloud environments), risk management, quality assurance, and flexibility in the development process.

This volume features a collection of papers on emerging concepts, significant insights, novel approaches and ideas in information systems research. It examines advances in information systems development in general, and their impact on the development of new methods, tools and management. The book contains invited papers selected from the 27th International Conference on Information Systems Development (ISD) held in Lund, Sweden, August 22 - 24, 2018. The revised and expanded papers present research that focuses on methods, tools and management in information systems development. These issues are significant as they provide the basis for organizations to identify new markets, support innovative technology deployment, and enable mobile applications to detect, sense, interpret and respond to the environment.

This volume contains the technical papers presented in the workshops, which took place at the 6th European Conference on Service-Oriented and Cloud Computing, ESOCC 2017, held in Oslo, Norway, September 2017: First International Workshop on Business Process Management in the Cloud, BPM@Cloud 2017; Third International Workshop on Cloud Adoption and Migration, CloudWays 2017. The 9 full papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 12 submissions. In addition, the volume also contains 8 EU Projects papers, describing projects presented at the European Projects Forum, which took place at ESOCC 2017. The papers focus on specific topics in service-oriented and cloud computing domains such as limits and/or advantages of existing cloud solutions, future internet technologies, efficient and adaptive deployment and management of service-based applications across multiple clouds, novel cloud service migration practices and solutions, digitization of enterprises in the cloud computing era, federated cloud networking services.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 11th International Workshop on Enterprise and Organizational Modeling and Simulation, EOMAS 2015, held at CAiSE 2015, in June 2015 in Stockholm, Sweden. EOMAS was founded with the purpose to become a forum among researchers and practitioners to share their research and practical findings by encouraging the dissemination of research results under a more generic umbrella called enterprise engineering, which encompasses internal factors ranging from organizational complexity to intricacy of business processes and sophistication in workflows as well as external factors and uncertainties such as competition, politics, or the emergence of innovative technologies. The 15 papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 28 submissions. They were organized in topical sections named: enterprise conceptual modeling and simulation; enterprise modeling formal foundation; and enterprise optimization.
