A promise at dawn, and a sure word at sunset, crown the brow of day with light, and sandal its feet with love. To break fast with Jesus and to sup with him also, is to enjoy the days of heaven upon the earth. It is dangerous to fall asleep till the head is leaned on Jesus' bosom. When divine love puts its finger on the weary eyelids, it is brave sleeping; but that the Lord's beloved may have such sleep given to him, it is needful that he should make a near approach to the throne, and unburden his soul be fore the great Preserver Of men. To enter into the blaze of Jehovah's presence by the way of the atoning blood is the sure method to refine ourselves of earthly dross.
