Creation and the Sovereignty of God brings fresh insight to a defense of God. Traditional theistic belief declared a perfect being who creates and sustains everything and who exercises sovereignty over all. Lately, this idea has been contested, but Hugh J. McCann maintains that God creates the best possible universe and is completely free to do so; that God is responsible for human actions, yet humans also have free will; and ultimately, that divine command must be reconciled with natural law. With this distinctive approach to understanding God and the universe, McCann brings new perspective to the evidential argument from evil.

God created man in his own image, and the profound implications of this assertion are the subject of this book. Drawing on philosophy, theology, science, Scripture and art, Cardinal Schnborn reflects on man as the greatest of Gods creatures and on the Christian understanding of his incomparable dignity that flows from this truth. According to the Christian faith, all the works of God converge toward man, and find their goal in him. The world was made for man, and man was made for God. This anthropocentrism resounds like good news at a time when many find it hard to believe in Gods special and personal providence for man. It is good news, indeed, that man has worth and his life has meaning because God bears an infinite love for him a love which is the very origin of creation and is the reason for the work of redemption. Among the topics Cardinal Schonborn addresses are: Christ-the Loveliest of Men, The Exaltation of Man, The Basis of Mans Dignity, Faith in Art, God with a Human Face.

I was born with a curious mind ... .l am a thinker. I question everything physical and spiritual except for the undeniable existence of God. There is only One Truth and His Name is Jesus Christ in the flesh, The Holy Spirit in your mind representing right, and God, The Almighty, Creator, Father, Who is everywhere at the same time. I have an unquenchable desire to know the deepest Truth about all things spiritual as well as physical. Why am I here? Why are we here? Where are we? What does my existence mean? What are the many reasons for so many different variables in this physical realm and how do they all work together, because it's very obvious that they do. I want you to think critically about what you read. God is indeed real, and He created this universe and everything in it, including all life. Most modern scientists reject the FACT that The Almighty God created this universe, and they are being used by Satan (our sworn spiritual enemy who has already been sentenced by God Almighty to eternal damnation) to confuse physical truths which clearly can ONLY be attributed to God The Creator. The Truth doesn't change just because someone doesn't believe it, so don't be one of the fooled ones. There was no spontaneous big bang, and life does NOT exist by some theoretical, spontaneous, evolutionary, purposeless process. Don't believe the lies; spontaneity cannot have purpose. Mr. Lindsey K. Ham Sr.

The doctrine of creation has often been neglected in Christian theology. Distinguished evangelical theologian Jonathan Wilson exposes what has been missing in current theological discourse and offers an original, constructive work on this doctrine. The book unites creation and redemption, showing the significance of God's work of creation for understanding the good news of redemption in Jesus Christ. Wilson develops a trinitarian account of the life of the world and sets forth how to live wisely, hopefully, peaceably, joyfully, and generously in that world. He also shows how a mature doctrine of creation can help the church think practically about contemporary issues, including creation care, sexuality, technology, food and water, and more.

“In the heart of this world, the Lord of life, who loves us so much, is always present. He does not abandon us, he does not leave us alone, for he has united himself definitively to our earth, and his love constantly impels us to find new ways forward. Praise be to him!” – Pope Francis, Laudato Si’ In his second encyclical, Laudato Si’: On the Care of Our Common Home, Pope Francis draws all Christians into a dialogue with every person on the planet about our common home. We as human beings are united by the concern for our planet, and every living thing that dwells on it, especially the poorest and most vulnerable. Pope Francis’ letter joins the body of the Church’s social and moral teaching, draws on the best scientific research, providing the foundation for “the ethical and spiritual itinerary that follows.” Laudato Si’ outlines: The current state of our “common home” The Gospel message as seen through creation The human causes of the ecological crisis Ecology and the common good Pope Francis’ call to action for each of us Our Sunday Visitor has included discussion questions, making it perfect for individual or group study, leading all Catholics and Christians into a deeper understanding of the importance of this teaching.
