Managing Collective Investment Funds This textbook is for those who wish to understand the regulation, investment management, administration and marketing of the collective investment funds - also known as mutual funds, unit trusts or investment trust companies - and the management of a business which operates such funds. The authors wrote the book as a result of providing training and advice to regulators and market practitioners worldwide - particularly in emerging markets - and finding that there was no generic international guide to understanding the investment fund business and its regulation and operation. The textbook is the basis for the training course delivered by the authors in the United Kingdom and around the world.

Originally published in 1978. The present study had grown out of the deliberations of wage policy at the 1971 Congress of LO, the Swedish Confederation of Trade Unions. For many years the LO had pursued a policy of solidarity in wage policy – a policy which sought to relate pay to the nature of the work which an employee carried out, and not to the capacity or ability of the employer to pay. Several issues related to this policy are explored. This study was extremely controversial when first published in Sweden, and will therefore be of great interest to students of economic history and democracy.
