A comprehensive guide to the techniques of astrological interpretation The Art of Interpreting Horoscopes gives, for the first time ever, the definition of a Graha in astrology. Shows how ancient classical dicta can be adapted and applied to contemporary charts to analyse: * Prim-Ministerial Yogas * Neechabhanga Raja Yoga * Adhi Yoga and Celebrity Status * Cases of Crime and Criminals * Crime Investigation * Possibility of Children and IVF * Loss of Children * Marriage from Navamsa Clues * Factors for Love Marriage * Swearing-in charts * Loss of Children India has always been an astrological society but at some point of time in the early part of the 20th century, the educated began to develop a certain distaste for this ancient science, largely because of the educational system in the country which distanced itself from the traditional branches of learning under a mistaken notion that by doing so, it was proving its rational credentials. However astrology being as good a science as any other of the modern ones, has stood the test of time and in recent years has made a resurgent reappearance as a result of my revered father, Father of Modern Astrology, the Late Dr. B. V. Raman's relentless efforts to propagate it as an academic subject. Astrology has now captured the interest of large segments of the educated public. The wave of resurgence has swept away this pseudo-rationalist resistance bringing with it the realization of the invaluable role astrology can play in helping cope with the ills of modern society. There has been some kind of snowballing effect in educated circles, both in our own country as well as in the west, primarily the United States of America, in their eagerness to retrieve, revive and restore Jyotish to its pristine glory. The ancient classical works on the subject are now being eagerly lapped up but the problem begins because of the times when the astrological rules were first formulated being so different from our own. The author has made effort to adapt and apply these rules in the form of dicta, Yogas and combinations to contemporary life in the process seeking to bridge the gap between the ancient rules and their application value to the present.

Astrology is an integral part of Indian culture. It is as old as the vedas. It explains the celestial phenomena and the corresponding terrestrial events. It explains the cause and effect of events. The main basis of astrological thought is that the celestial phenomena effects the life and events on the earth. It does not permit anyone to conclude any event just as an accident. Celestial bodies generate a lot of energy m their movements and astrology shows us how we can use these energies operative m our lives in the best possible way. Astrology is a science which helps the mankind to put their life in the right path. Astrology was tested and experienced for many centuries and it’s knowledge was handed down the ages to new generations. A study of the civilizations flourished m different parts of the world shows that Astrology played an important role m their life. The places where astrology does not flourish are mostly barbarious, lacking in knowledge and they don’t have any communication with the universe. In India, astrology has been considered as the best guide to achieve the fourfold objectives of life and they are Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksa All the activities of human being are directed towards the achievement of these goals and astrology helps us to achieve them in a organized manner. Astrology has reached this stage after nullifying the criticisms, which it has to face from the beginning itself. Astrology has the seven visible grahas - Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn along with the two lunar nodes - Rahu and Ketu . Rahu and Ketu are accepted as grahas in Indian astrology only. They are considered as shadowy - grahas. The details available about Rahu and Ketu are confusing. Astrological texts don’t have a unanimus opmion about Rahu - Ketu. These opinions create confusion in the mind of astrologers as well as astrology followers. So, there is a need of study on Rahu - Ketu. Rahu - Ketu are considered as recent developments by many scholars But, this is not true. Their references are available m vedas itself. So, with a view to give some clear opinion on Rahu - Ketu, I have chosen this subject for study. Further, we know that astrology is the most criticized subject and research in this field are very less. So, I have tried to answer these criticisms and I hope that my study will encourage more researches in this field.

Astrology can be considered a useful branch of knowledge only if its concepts and principles could be applied to assess the personality and life of a person, and to look into the years ahead to tell him as to what is in store for him.

In the darkest days of the Second World War, with Europe falling under German occupation and Britain facing invasion, a 36-year-old refugee from the Nazis, Louis de Wohl, made a curious offer to British Intelligence. Based on the widely-held belief that Hitler's every action was guided by his horoscope, de Wohl claimed he could reveal precisely what advice the Fuhrer's astrologers were giving him. Rather than being dismissed out of hand as a crank, Churchill could see de Wohl's worth for himself. He was subsequently made an army captain and quartered in the Grosvenor House Hotel, from where he passed detailed astrological readings to the War Office and Naval Intelligence, before being transferred to work for the SOE in the United States. Was it possible that senior military and naval intelligence officers could take the ancient and arcane practice of astrology seriously? And was de Wohl genuine or merely a charlatan? In The Astrologer, author James Parris examines the evidence, including recently released files, and reaches remarkable conclusions about this bizarre aspect of the war.
