Excerpt from Annual Report of the Adjutant-General of the State of New Jersey: For the Year 1865 Sir: Being required by law to report all proceedings relative to the military force ordered by the Commander-in Chief, upon requisition of the President of the United States, together with the general state of the militia, as also any improvements to advance the discipline and benefit of the militia, I beg leave to submit the following report of military transactions through this department since the date of my last annual report. The clerical force has been much reduced, and it is expected to reduce the business of this office to a peace footing at an early day.
