Environmental education curriculum materials on adaptations. Item is part of a series (called REEP), designed to be taught in sequence as part of a logical whole (although each lesson stands on its own as well). Each unit contains an introduction with background information, a lesson summary with the outline of the instructional flow, a unit evaluation, glossary and bibliography. The lessons contain up to three activities that require up to three class periods to complete. Ready-to-copy pages, written concepts, objectives, materials and time required for each activity are included as well as special teacher resources pages. The third grade unit explores concepts of animal, plant and seed adaptations, including camouflage and habitat adaptation. Average activities take approximately 45 minutes.
