Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made available for future generations to enjoy.

The only public domain English translation of the Bhagavata Purana, corrected and with a new introduction by Bhakta Jim. Other editions of this book are mere facsimiles of the original created by photographing pages. This edition is far superior to those. Bhakta Jim has transcribed, corrected, and reformatted the entire text of the book, and has added an index to all the most important names and terms used. The original book had many errors and inadequate typesetting. This new edition fixes all that. This book was written in 1901 and dedicated to Annie Besant of the Theosophical Society. It is a fairly complete translation of one of the great scriptures of India, containing the story of the Supreme Lord Krishna who brought his eternal kingdom to earth thousands of years ago. If you only know Krishna as the speaker of the Bhagavad Gita or as the hero of the Mahabharata this book is must reading. If you are studying Indian philosophy, or are interested in mythology, high fantasy, or just a good story, you will enjoy this book.
